School District Building Projects

The Brandywine Heights Area School District is pleased to provide community members with information on the facility projects of the school district.  As community members and stakeholders, we want to be sure that you are informed of the decisions and projects being conducted as future investments of the school district.

School Board of Directors Facility Decisions:

BACKGROUND

  • Summer 2018 – District partnered with Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates Architects (CRA) to conduct a facility analysis of all buildings, systems and outdoor space utilization.  
  • Winter 2019 – School Board of Directors approved reconfiguration of the Elementary Office to increase the safety of the building, adding protective bulletproof glass at the Intermediate/Middle School and High School offices and replacing the roof of the High School building.
  • Spring 2019 – Community presentations held regarding facility analysis and consideration of future projects. A community survey was developed and sent to all residents in the school district. Board of Directors approved a long range project plan commitments to support an addition at the Elementary School including additional classroom spaces and a gymnasium.  They also approved interior work to be conducted at the Intermediate/Middle School and finally placed an emphasis on updating outdoor facilities.
  • Summer 2019 – High School roof was replaced and the Elementary Office reconfiguration/security upgrades were conducted.
  • Spring 2020 – Community Facility Presentation – Elementary Addition

CURRENT PROJECTS

  • Summer 2020 to Summer 2021 – Elementary Addition including 4 classrooms and a new gymnasium
