COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE Brandywine Heights Middle School is committed to excellence in providing an appropriate and meaningful educational experience for our 564 students. Our professional staff of 56 highly qualified educators comprised of 50 teachers, two guidance counselors, one school nurse, one librarian, and two building administrators were all on hand to welcome them back to school on August 27, 2007. If you ask any one of our staff members what is the best thing about BHMS, they will tell you "The kids", and it is true. We appreciate the opportunity to serve the District's fifth through eight graders and we are committed to excellence as we carry out our mission. Following middle level philosophy, our programs are designed to be academically appropriate and developmentally responsive to young adolescents. Our curriculum provides students with an integrated and comprehensive course of study with many opportunities for exploratory learning. The developmental needs of our ten to fifteen year old students as they grow into young adults are addressed professionally through our interdepartmental team structure.
