What Do School Counselors Do?
- Talk with individual students
- Meet with students in small groups
- Visits classrooms to teach lessons about things that will help you in school and out of school
- Promote positive attitudes and choices
- Aid teachers and parents in helping students
- Coordinate efforts with other community and school programs
- Maintain confidentiality
- Investigate and help to solve problems
- Coordinate and help with PSSA testing
- Screening students for gifted and learning support referrals
- Help to promote a positive school climate with the 4th grade school climate committee
