Purpose

The purpose of the Brandywine Heights Area School District Safety Committee is to bring employees together to achieve and maintain a safe, healthful workplace.

Goal

The goal of the Brandywine Heights Area School District Safety Committee is to eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses by involving employees and managers in identifying hazards and suggesting how to prevent them. 

Objectives

The Brandywine Heights Area School District Safety Committee aims to: 

• Facilitate cooperation between an employer and employees in initiating, developing, carrying out and monitoring measures designed to ensure the health, safety and welfare of employees.

• Provide a safe and healthy educational environment for the student population. 

• Involve employees in achieving a safe, healthful workplace while promoting awareness and assisting in the  resolution of occupational health and safety issues. 

• Reduce property, liability and workers' compensation losses. 

• Promptly review all safety-related incidents, injuries, accidents, illnesses, and deaths. 

• Conduct annual workplace inspections, identify hazards, and recommend methods for eliminating or controlling the hazards. 

• Annually evaluate the Brandywine Heights Area School District workplace safety and health program and recommend improvements to management.
