🦇Bat Signal Activated: Learning in Flight
Our 7th grade students got an up-close look at some of the incredible work happening just down the road in Mertztown—thanks to a special visit from the PA Bat Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, the LARGEST facility of its kind on the East Coast!
The center provides vital shelter for injured and vulnerable bats and plays a key role in educating the public about bat conservation. More than just cool critters, these bats are part of a bigger mission: protecting vulnerable species, educating future conservationists, and proving that even the smallest wings can make a big impact.

We had some pretty special guests at our April 7 School Board meeting 💫
✨ Mrs. Donna Kline, our beloved High School Head Cook, was honored with a plaque recognizing her 31 years of dedicated service. From early mornings to lunch lines and everything in between — thank you for filling our hearts (and stomachs) for over three decades. You’ll be missed more than you know!
💥 We also celebrated our #NewHeights winners:
• Heidi Stufflet, Paraprofessional — praised for her kindness, reliability, and always going the extra mile to help her classroom #ReachNewHeights!
• Kelly Womack, K–3 STEM — known for her sincere heart, creative spirit, and unwavering support for both students and staff. A true rock star in every sense.
It’s moments like these that remind us how lucky we are at Brandywine Heights Area School District. 💙

🎶 Our Spring Concert is tonight at 7:00 PM — and we’d love to have you join us!
Can’t make it in person? No worries — you can catch the live stream here:

🎉 District Wide Spirit Day is THIS Friday, May 2nd!
Wear your BHASD gear, rep your colors, and show that Bullet pride
Be LOUD. Be PROUD. GO BULLETS!💥

In honor of Arbor Day, the 7th grade science students planted 14 new trees along our stretch of Toad Creek! 🌳 The planting is a continuation of the stream improvement plan which began last school year. Rooted in learning, growing a brighter future. ✨

🐟 Trout in the Classroom Update!
Our little trout are thriving! These fry are now well into their growing stage—developing strong stripes and swimming with confidence. They'll be ready for their release into the wild by the end of May. 🏞️
Thanks to our students for helping raise the next generation of aquatic life—one splash at a time! 🌊

💥 NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES...
Some wear lanyards, rock spreadsheets, wrangle calendars, and somehow answer three phones while returning an email.
They're fast. They're focused. They're the behind-the-scenes warriors who keep the entire District running smoother than a brand-new copier.
🔥 Strength: Knowing the answer before you finish the question
⚡ Weakness: Empty pot of coffee
💪 Special Move: Turning chaos into calm
🎉 Happy Administrative Professionals Day!
You might not wear a cape, but trust us—we see your superpowers.

🛠️ “If you build it…”
Well, we are — and it’s looking good.
From fresh blacktop to towering lights and a scoreboard that’s ready for the spotlight, our stadium project is laying the groundwork for something legendary.

Happy Earth Day from Brandywine Heights Area School District! 🌱
Did you know? Just one mature tree can absorb up to 48 pounds of carbon dioxide a year and provide oxygen for two people! 🌳
Let’s keep growing, learning, and protecting the place we all call home—pick up a piece of trash, plant something green, or just take a moment to enjoy the sunshine ☀️

The Middle School Brandywine Broadcasting Network (BBN) had an amazing visit to the WFMZ/Channel 69 News studio in Allentown. The students were able to be on set for the live 12:00 news broadcast, learn about a plethora of career opportunities from studio members Asimo Long, Jaciel Córdoba, and Kathy Craine, and witness first-hand, what magic lies both behind and in front of the cameras to, ultimately, yield what we see on the TV screen(e.g., studio sets /equipment, master control room, green screen, etc.). This unique opportunity for the cast members of BBN resulted in so much learning about broadcast journalism and hopefully inspired a future career in news or weather reporting.

🛒 Need a little help with groceries? 🍎🥖
The Helping Harvest Mobile Market is available at Brandywine Heights IS/MS for families who qualify. Eligibility is based on income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level, and a simple Self-Declaration of Need form is required—no proof of income necessary.

Enjoy the break. See you back in class April 22nd 😎

📢The news is out!
Thanks to Friends of Brandywine, kids won’t go hungry this summer. This is what community looks like—showing up, stepping in, and feeding futures.
Watch the story on 69 News: https://www.wfmz.com/news/area/berks/friends-show-up-to-help-berks-school-district-fill-funding-gap-for-summer-meal-program/article_f96fcb51-f8e6-4f72-b063-8ffe4b553968.html

When grant funding for our summer meal program ran out, Friends of Brandywine didn’t miss a beat.
They raised $40,000 (yes, forty thousand!) to keep the program going for the next two years—making sure our kids stay fed and cared for all summer long.
Their support means bellies that might’ve gone empty this summer will be full instead. 💛
This is what community looks like. When one door closes, our people build another—and hold it open for everyone.
We’re so lucky to be part of a place that shows up for its kids.
Thank you, Friends of Brandywine. We’re beyond grateful.

Ready for action… no assembly required!
This week, in honor of National Assistant Principals Week, we’re celebrating Mrs. Michelle Ward (IS/MS Assistant Principal) and Mr. Rine Strohecker (HS Assistant Principal).
We’re so grateful for everything they do to support our students, staff, and schools—all day, every day.
