Let's help our local community by participating in the first ever IS/MS Souper Bowl! With two weeks before the big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, we are asking students to bring in canned good to donate to Helping Harvest. When you bring your donations to school, place your cans on either the Chiefs side of the field or the Eagles side of the field. ...whichever team you think will win the Super Bowl. On February 7th, we will see which side has more donations and find out if our predictions are correct on Sunday, February 9th. Thank you so much for supporting our local community through this fun initiative.

🎣 Trout in the Classroom Update! 🐟
Exciting news—some of the trout have started to hatch! At this stage, they’re known as sac fry or alevin. If you look closely, you’ll notice their yolk sacs still attached—these will provide all the nourishment they need as they grow over the next few weeks. 🌱
While it’s amazing to watch this process unfold, not all survive—just as it happens in nature. The beaker shows the ones that didn’t make it, reminding us of the delicate balance in their journey.
Stay tuned for more updates as these little trout continue to grow! 🐟💧

🌬️ 2-Hour Delay Alert 🌬️
Due to the extreme cold weather forecasted, Brandywine Heights Area School District will be operating on a 2-hour delay for Tuesday, January 21st, and Wednesday, January 22nd.
The delay allows:
🚌 Extra time to warm up the buses.
☀️ Daylight for drivers to better navigate frozen runoff areas.
❄️ A bit of warming from the sun to keep students safer.
Stay warm, Brandywine! ❄️🧣 #BHASD #WinterWeatherUpdate #StaySafe

🐟 Exciting news from Brandywine Heights Area School District! Last week, students in Mrs. Levengood’s, Mr. Donato’s, and Ms. Sheeler’s classes welcomed their new aquatic classmates—baby trout! As part of the Pennsylvania Trout in the Classroom program, our students will raise these trout from eggs to fingerlings, learning about coldwater conservation and aquatic ecosystems along the way.
Later this year, we’ll release our trout into the stream by the Intermediate School/Middle School, giving them a new home and contributing to local conservation efforts.
Follow along for updates on our fin-tastic journey! 🐠📚

Happy New Year from all of us at Brandywine Heights Area School District! Wishing you a 2025 filled with joy and endless possibilities. Here's to making it a year to remember! 🎉✨

Wishing you joy, peace, and warmth this holiday season from all of us at Brandywine Heights Area School District. Happy Holidays! 🎄❄️✨

Big thanks to our School Board for treating the entire District Staff to a holiday lunch! Chick-fil-A sandwiches and snacks were the perfect way to celebrate the season. 🎄🍴

☕️ Cold, foggy mornings call for hot coffee and warm hearts. After Monday’s moving POW/MIA Flag Donation Ceremony, we shared stories, smiles, and some warm beverages with our incredible Veterans. Thank you to everyone who braved the weather to honor the brave.

The Brandywine Heights Area School District will be operating under a two-hour delay. Road conditions, particularly in the higher elevations, are snow covered and very slippery. A delay will allow for roads to be treated and a safer travel in daylight

Thank you to Ott Gardens and Planters for collaborating with our ESL classes today! Together, students designed and created beautiful planters that are now proudly decorating our buildings for the winter season. This hands-on project was a wonderful way to blend creativity, teamwork, and community engagement. Our students enjoyed learning from the experts and bring their ideas to life. A special thank you to the Brandywine Educational Foundation for sponsoring this event! Your support made this incredible experience possible and helped us make the school spaces warm and inviting.
