Toby’s in the building! Our four-legged friend made his rounds this week to deliver his special brand of therapy—complete with tail wags, gentle nudges, and lots of love. Thanks to Toby for reminding us that sometimes the best kind of support has fur and a wagging tail!

BHVA Students explored the process of comic strip making. Using heroes they previously designed, students created a short panel strip that tells a brief adventure, joke, or observation. Effective comics combine visual art and concise writing to effectively drive their story from beginning to close. Let the image do the heavy lifting. Every word must advance the plot or deliver the punchline. Students explored why artists also often use limited color palettes; from efficiency of printing, like the use of "Ben-Day Dots", to creating strong compositional emphasis and focal points. Students also looked at styles of bubble types and how speech/thought bubbles and their expressive qualities can add mood and tone to their character's dialogue and action words.

Thank you to the VSP Vision Eyes of Hope Mobile Eye Care Clinic for volunteering their time and services in our district over the past two days.

Through their efforts, 67 individuals – including students, family members, and community members – received eye screenings, with 47 prescriptions for glasses provided. This generous support helps ensure our students and families have access to the resources they need to thrive.

Clear vision = brighter futures. We’re so grateful for this partnership!

Our Virtual Academy Students had a blast learning time management skills, the importance of good sleep practices and a few helpful Brain Breaks to reset on a long day. Students were able to practice some of these skills by organizing the busy day of a veterinarian, assessing priorities and scheduling them into the allotted time.
