Due to the significant snowfall from the current storm and continued snow expected, Brandywine Heights Area School District will hold a Virtual Weather Day tomorrow, Monday, January 26, 2026.

What to know:
• Virtual schedule for all students K–12: 8:30–11:30 AM
• Students needing additional support in the afternoon should email their teacher to schedule a virtual meeting
• BCTC students: please follow communication from BCTC
• Building-specific schedules are available on our website and through email
• Physical offices will be closed; staff will be working remotely
• All after-school and evening activities are canceled

❄️☃️This is a message from the Brandywine Heights Area School District. To help families prepare for tomorrow morning I wanted to send a message out this evening with an update on the status of school tomorrow. The School District will be operating under a two hour delay for tomorrow, Monday, January 19th. Based on the current snow coming down and freezing temperatures over night, a delay will allow time to clear roads and school grounds. We will evaluate conditions in the morning and any additional calls will be made by 8:00 am.

BHVA Students kicked it up a notch this month and learned about the power of fitness. We discussed the difference between strength, endurance and cardiovascular health and focused on our form as we practiced various stretches and body-weight exercises. We are ready to stay active this winter!

❄️☃️The Brandywine Heights Area School District will be CLOSED tomorrow (Tuesday, December 2) due to the forecasted snow and wintry mix. Higher elevations in the District are expected to see increased snow and ice throughout the day.

Because of the long Thanksgiving break, Elementary students do not have devices at home, so a virtual learning day is not possible.

An update on after-school and evening activities—including the School Board meeting—will be shared by lunchtime tomorrow.

BHVA Students added several helpful tools to their superhero belts this month. We learned about the power of choice in our response to our emotions and the world around us. We learned about the importance of gratitude and taking time to dwell on what makes us thankful. Then we pulled it all together and learned about Nutrition and how to make healthy food choices, and be thankful for what we have. Students relished the chance to think contemplatively about what we appreciate in life. Our time ended with a chance to decipher nutrition labels and glean clues in an intriguing food based game of Who-done-it!

Celebrating Kindness Day Across BHASD!

Thursday our district came together to shine a light on the power of kindness, with each building embracing a unique theme that showcased creativity, connection, and compassion. Elementary students brought a Kindness Tree to life by adding personalized leaves to its branches. Each leaf represented a kind thought, action, or message—growing a beautiful visual reminder of how small acts can make a big impact. Students at the Intermediate & Middle School designed and decorated handprints that are now proudly displayed in the cafeteria. The Be the "I" in Kind mural invites everyone to literally and figuratively stand in the I, reinforcing that each person plays an essential role in spreading kindness. Finally, students at the High School put Kindness into Action and gathered on the turf field for a photo.
Across all grade levels, our students showed what it means to lift each other up and contribute to a community where everyone belongs. Thank you to our staff and students for making Kindness Day meaningful, memorable, and inspiring!
