Pre-K (Potteiger) students are learning about heart healthy food choices. The class grew lettuce in a hydroponic garden and then created delicious salads. The students also used fruit to make smoothies.

🔎 Flipping the Script on Learning! 🎤
On Friday, over 40 Brandywine students (grades 3-12) took the lead in teaching our teachers! 👏 From coding to middle school life to post-grad plans, students shared their perspectives while educators gained fresh insights.
This unique student-led Professional Development session reinforced the power of hope—a key piece of our Profile of a Learner—and the impact of authentic, career-focused learning. 💡💬
Big thanks to our incredible students for inspiring the future of education!

PreK Price have been working on The Clothing Study. We have had lots of fun with our investigations and used our new technology to learn more. We used “Exploview” microscopes to investigate what fabric fibers look like when they are magnified. We read The Paper Bag Princess and worked on creating our own paper bag puppets. We read The Patchwork Prince by Jean Baptiste and painted our own patchwork pictures. We read Abelula’s Weave and learned about weaving, sewing, and lacing, creating our weaving projects using handmade looms. We listened to various stories and used puppets and pictures to retell them to each other. Our favorite story was Mrs. McNosh Hangs Up Her Wash. We read A Button for Corduroy and Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons and used math skills to count and sort buttons. We created our own fashion designs using fashion plates and we discussed what clothing to wear for the weather using Weather Bear to practice on. We discussed what clothing our community helpers wear for their job that help to keep them safe and clean. We are planning to celebrate our learning by tie-dying t-shirts and decorating homemade vests.
