Veteran's Day Celebration 2025

Honoring Service. Celebrating Community.

Brandywine Heights Area School District welcomed more than 50 veterans to its annual Veterans Day program held at the Intermediate/Middle School. Throughout the morning, veterans visited classrooms to share their personal stories and experiences with students, giving them a firsthand understanding of courage, sacrifice, and service.

Morning activities also included visits from therapy dogs, which brought comfort and smiles to everyone. A hospitality room, hosted by Student Council, provided veterans with refreshments and a welcoming space to connect and share stories. Attendees also had the opportunity to explore a display from the Topton Mini Museum, which showcased historic uniforms, memorabilia, and artifacts dating back to World War II.

At noon, students and veterans gathered for a special assembly featuring guest speakers and musical tributes. State Representative David Maloney presented the District’s Patriot Award to local veteran Cliff Kerchner, honoring his exceptional dedication to both country and community.

The District also recognized this year’s poster and essay contest winners, highlighting students whose work captured the themes of service and gratitude. Following the assembly, guests were invited to a luncheon celebrating all veterans. A huge thank you to Mr. Kotsch, Student Council, students, and teachers who's hard work and dedication made the day such a success. To all Veterans both locally and across the country...we thank you for your service, sacrifice, and everything you have done for our freedom.
