Graduation

On June 2, 2026, the Brandywine Heights Area School District proudly celebrated a historic milestone as 85 seniors crossed the stage during the District's first-ever commencement ceremony held on the new athletic field at Brandywine Heights High School.

The Class of 2026 leaves behind a unique legacy. Their educational journey began under unusual circumstances as kindergarten students attended classes in the middle school while the elementary school underwent mold remediation in 2013. Over the years, they witnessed significant changes throughout the District and ultimately became the first class to graduate in the newly completed stadium.

The graduates also hold a special place in the heart of High School Principal, Mr. Dziunycz, as they were the final group of fourth-grade students he led as Assistant Principal of the Intermediate/Middle School before transitioning to High School Principal. Throughout the ceremony, he reflected on the privilege of watching these students grow from elementary school children into accomplished young adults ready to begin their next chapter.

Adding to the significance of the evening, members from the Brandywine Heights' first graduating class, the Class of 1956, joined the celebration. Their presence connected seven decades of District history, creating a meaningful bridge between the school's first graduates and its newest.

Mr. Potteiger, Superintendent of Schools, had the special privilege to share the stage with his graduating daughter, Ella Potteiger, Senior Class Officer and Class Speaker along with Ellis Kline, Senior Class Officer and Class Speaker.

Surrounded by family, friends, faculty, and community members, the Class of 2026 was recognized for its perseverance, resilience, and achievements. The memorable evening celebrated not only the accomplishments of the graduates but also the enduring tradition and pride of the Brandywine Heights community. Following the graduation ceremony, the night concluded with a fireworks display celebrating the Class of 2026.

Congratulations Class of 2026!
