Our next senior is Sydney Smith! Sydney says, “After graduating, I plan to go to a 4-year college to pursue a degree in Nursing. I also plan to become a Travel Nurse and will further my education by specializing in NICU Nursing or Pediatrics. I hope to settle down in one of the Carolinas where I can enjoy the beach, travel the world, start a family, and enjoy life.” Congratulations, Sydney, and best of luck!

Thank You for a Fantastic Tractor Day 2025! A huge thank you to all the students and families who helped make Tractor Day 2025 such a success! Your enthusiasm, creativity, and community spirit brought fun and excitement to the day. From the impressive tractors to the smiling faces, it was a day to remember. Thank you for your participation and support! A special thank you to Jack Eisenhart, Sarah Wetzel, Aiden Clifford, Brooke Wetzel, Adrianna Wetzel, Asher Ruth and all of the families that participated in Tractor Day 2025.

🎶 Last week Chamber Singers visited the middle school for the first chorus recruitment day. High school students performed for middle school chorus students and helped teach them a song, which everyone performed together. 🎼 They also did a get to know you game and Q&A session. Thank you to seniors Greta Kline and Hailey Diefenbach for organizing this event for their NHS project. It was a fun afternoon! 😊

Graduation for the BHASD Class of 2025 will be held on June 2nd at 6: 30pm at Kutztown University in the O'Pake Fieldhouse, 15200 South Campus Drive, Kutztown, PA 19530. Tickets are required and doors will open to families at 5:45 pm. We look forward to this special event! Ryan Skye DiGiosia is our next senior! Ryan plans to attend Wilkes University to major in Nursing. She also plans to join the cheerleading team at Wilkes! After college, she aims to secure a successful nursing job, live in a farmhouse, get married, start a family, and enjoy a long and happy life. One of her favorite high school memories is the National Parks Trip. She loved hiking through Bryce Canyon and taking a boat ride through the Grand Canyon. Congratulations, Ryan!

🎓 The Brandywine Heights High School Class of 2025 took their Graduation Walk today—strolling through the halls of the elementary, intermediate, and middle school buildings in full cap and gown! ♥️ They reunited with former teachers, high-fived younger students, and revisited the places where it all began. 🎶 The Brandywine Heights High School Chamber Singers, Treble Choir, and Jazz Choir will be performing one final concert of the school year this Wednesday, May 28, 2025. 📅 The concert is at Christ Mertz Lutheran Church in Dryville and begins at 7:00 p.m. In addition to performing their spring concert music, the ensembles will be adding a few songs to the program, including one that they’ve never performed before. 🎼 Thank you to Christ Mertz Lutheran Church for hosting this concert and to Mr. Pat Lundy for the incredible poster design. Sydney Deeble is our next featured senior! Sydney says, "I plan to attend Penn State main campus and major in Kinesiology. I hope to work in sports medicine and help athletes achieve their goals. My favorite BHASD memories were the soccer games because they were so much fun with everyone." Congratulations and best of luck, Sydney!

Yesterday at the Berks County Community Foundation Scholarship Luncheon in Reading, 2 Brandywine Heights High School Seniors, Devra Longacre and Benjamin Grim were honored for receiving scholarships in their academic and future pursuits. Ben received the Earl Speicher Memorial Scholarship for his academic excellence and future plans to attend Salve Regina University, where he will study Cultural and Historical Preservation. Devra was honored for her work in her Dental Occupations program as one of the 11 students chosen as Berks Best. Devra was recognized as a Berks Best Career and Technical Education student! Her work in her career and technical education program through BCTC has paved the way for outstanding honors and accolades. These seniors were honored at the luncheon, and we are so proud of their accomplishments and where the future will take them.

At the May 5 Board Meeting, we had the privilege of recognizing three amazing educators on their retirement at the end of the school year. Thank you for being part of our story — we wish you the very best in your next chapter. 📖✨

Maranda Prentice is our next senior spotlight! Maranda plans to attend the University of Maine to major in Anthropology. She hopes to become a Forensic Anthropologist. Congratulations, Maranda! Best of luck!

Celebrating Student Success + Staff Shoutouts! 🎉 We’ve got some major wins and well-deserved recognitions to share from our last Brandywine Heights Area School District Board Meeting: 🏃‍♂️ Athletics Achievements • Jonathan Shuey set a new school record in the 110m hurdles – 16.63 seconds! • David Bates broke the 100m sprint record with a time of 10.89 seconds. • Matt Sterner hit a huge milestone with 100 career strikeouts, including 13 in a single game vs. Oley! 🔧 SkillsUSA Standouts • Brandon Lenhart took 1st place in Diesel Technology and is headed to Nationals in Atlanta! • Owen Miller earned 3rd place in Power Equipment Technology – way to go! 🎓 Graduation Support A big thank you to the Brandywine Heights Education Foundation and The Perk Up Truck for supporting this year’s graduation celebrations — including a generous $500 donation toward our program printing! 🌟 #NewHeights Award Honorees Congrats to our May recipients who go above and beyond: • Mrs. Melissa Molis – Intermediate School • Mrs. Christine Miller – Intermediate/Middle School

🌿 Big shoutout to our 7th grade conservationists! This winter, they dove into the importance of riparian buffer zones and designed posters that helped shape a brand-new permanent sign—now proudly on display near the stream. It's more than just a sign… it’s a symbol of the meaningful work our students are doing to protect and educate. 💧🪧
