Mr. McCloskey shared how he observes the natural world and turns his sketches into books. Students loved seeing his drawings, learning about his creative process, and hearing how curiosity and careful observation can inspire great stories.

In Explore, our K–3 students explored the basics of coding and robotics by programming their robots to move, turn, and complete fun challenges. Activities like this help build problem-solving skills, creativity, and confidence in technology.

Today was our first day of book tastings. Students learned the “ingredients” that make a book fiction or non-fiction. Then they had a chance to sample books from each genre. We look forward to hosting more students on Wednesday and Thursday at Starbooks Cafe! ☕️

2nd graders in Mrs. Smith’s class earned money for good behavior choices, while they were learning about money in math. They went shopping with their earnings and used skills to count money, and figure out change! 💰

Yesterday was a BIG day in Explore! Our trout friends officially graduated! After weeks of growing and swimming in their cozy basket, they’re now big and strong enough to explore their new home. Watching them take this next step was so exciting!
To celebrate, we read a special story about fly fishing and trout written and illustrated by Mrs. Levengood’s cousin, Jon Trenge. What a perfect way to connect our Trout in the Classroom learning to real-world experiences!
