Dear Brandywine Heights Families, On Wednesday, November 13, the Brandywine Heights Area School District will join people around the globe in celebrating World Kindness Day! This special day is a wonderful opportunity to recognize the power of kindness and to remind one another that even small acts can make a big difference. Each of our schools has planned meaningful activities to highlight what kindness means to our students and how it can grow throughout our community: 🌱 Elementary School – “Giving Life to Kindness” Elementary students will bring a Kindness Tree to life in the school cafeteria! Each student will reflect on the prompt “Kindness is…” and share their thoughts by adding a personalized leaf to the tree’s branches. Together, their words will form a beautiful display of compassion and creativity. ✋ Intermediate & Middle School – “Be the ‘I’ in KIND” Intermediate and Middle School students will “be the ‘I’ in KIND” by adding their handprints to a special backdrop in the IS/MS cafeteria. This interactive display will give every student the chance to leave their mark and celebrate the spirit of kindness with a fun photo opportunity! 💛 High School – “Kindness in Action” At the High School, all grade levels will come together on the new turf field to form the word “KIND.” A drone photo will capture this powerful image of Kindness in Action as students join in a memorable display of unity and compassion. (Please note: The photo will be taken prior to BCTC students departing at 10:00 a.m.) We are so proud of our students and staff for making kindness a cornerstone of our district’s culture. Thank you for your continued support in helping us spread positivity and compassion—today and every day! With gratitude, Brandywine Heights Area School District

In technology in 3rd grade, students watched a clip from the popular YouTube channel, Dude Perfect, where a pumpkin carving contest was hosted. They, then, used a 3D software, called CyberPumpkin.Zone, to simulate creating their own pumpkin carving contest, where students voted on their favorite creation! :)

This Explore cycle we did Halloween challenges! We trapped a monster, built a fence to keep creepy carrots from escaping, helped Crankenstein be less cranky, and made our very own under the bed monsters!

Second graders explored the different properties of materials used for clothing, such as texture, flexibility, and absorbency. In this activity, students used this information to design and build a hat that protects them from the Sun.
