October Math Challenge!   We are excited to bring you another math challenge for October!! All students in Pre-K to Grade 3 are invited to participate! Students will be bringing home a math calendar. Throughout the month of October, we are challenging students to try to solve one math problem each day. Maybe they used the clock to tell the time, perhaps they counted how many plates they needed to set at the table for dinner, or maybe they compared the price of the same item at two different stores. Write the math problem that was solved on the calendar for that day. If 15 or more days are filled in for the month of October, then take the calendar to Potts’ Top Dog to receive a FREE HOT DOG AND ICE CREAM!!!!!   THANK YOU POTTS’ TOP DOG for supporting our students!!   If you have any questions, you can email Mrs. Farina (mailto:laufar@bhasd.org) or Mrs. Levengood (mailto:lynlev@bhasd.org).

Thank you to the VSP Vision Eyes of Hope Mobile Eye Care Clinic for volunteering their time and services in our district over the past two days.

Through their efforts, 67 individuals – including students, family members, and community members – received eye screenings, with 47 prescriptions for glasses provided. This generous support helps ensure our students and families have access to the resources they need to thrive.

Clear vision = brighter futures. We’re so grateful for this partnership!

Pre-K Price learned about the US Constitution on Constitution Day. We talked about why we have classroom rules, what we could do to be a good citizen and we used feather quills and ink to sign our names, just like the Founding Fathers did when they signed the Constitution.

This week, our students began their reading and math target times. These parts of the day allow teachers to hone in on skills students need to continue to grow their skill sets. From the looks of it, students are having fun and working hard! Be sure to ask your child what they did during their target times today! 📖✏️🧠💪🏼
