Weather Update | 2-Hour Delay

Due to extreme cold, the Brandywine Heights Area School District will operate on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, January 28; Thursday, January 29; and Friday, January 30.

The delay allows time for buses to warm, improved visibility for drivers, and safer conditions for students. This advance notice is to help families plan for the week.

🍎 Free breakfast will be available to all students each morning.

Please stay safe and warm. ❄️💙

Snowy days feel like the perfect time to look back. ❄️

As part of our 70th anniversary, and with the help of the Longswamp Township Historical Society, we restored and digitized the only known copy of the District’s original dedication program. It offers a rare glimpse into the planning, pride, and purpose that shaped Brandywine Heights Area School District from the very beginning. Stay warm and take a moment to flip through this piece of our history: https://heyzine.com/flip-book/a17d0147a8.html#page/1

❄️☃️This is a message from the Brandywine Heights Area School District. To help families prepare for tomorrow morning I wanted to send a message out this evening with an update on the status of school tomorrow. The School District will be operating under a two hour delay for tomorrow, Monday, January 19th. Based on the current snow coming down and freezing temperatures over night, a delay will allow time to clear roads and school grounds. We will evaluate conditions in the morning and any additional calls will be made by 8:00 am.

Please stay safe and warm this evening!

Students in Spanish 3 and 4 created a masterpiece based on the artwork “The Flower Carrier” by Diego Rivera. Each student drew and colored a square to make the complete piece. Students in Spanish 1, 2, and 3 learned about Rivera’s life and art. Great work, everyone!

🎄✨ As we head into the holiday break, we want to wish our entire school community a joyful and restful holiday season. Over the past few weeks, our hallways have been filled with creativity and cheer as staff and students brought their classrooms to life through festive door decorating. Our teachers also went above and beyond—hosting classroom celebrations, flipping pancakes, serving homemade hot chocolate, and even joining in on some fun White Elephant gift exchanges. Thank you to everyone who shared their energy, teamwork, and school spirit. Enjoy a well-deserved break—we look forward to seeing you in the new year!

🐾💙 Special Guest in Mental & Emotional Wellness Class! 💙🐾 Our high school students enrolled in Mental and Emotional Wellness had a surprise yesterday—a visit from our therapy dog in training, Gus! 🐶✨ As part of their learning, students explored how serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin affect mood, motivation, and connection. Therapy dogs can naturally help boost these “feel-good” chemicals while providing comfort, connection, and emotional support. Learning about mental health doesn’t have to stay in a textbook—sometimes it has four legs and a wagging tail.
