From now until graduation, we’d like to take the opportunity to highlight members of our senior class. We want to acknowledge the incredible things they have planned for post-graduation and reminisce on some of their favorite memories from their time at Brandywine Heights.
First up, we have Taylar Merkel!
In September I will be attending my dream school, the Delaware College of Art and Design. I will be studying photography. After receiving my Bachelor’s in Fine Arts, I plan on starting my own photography business and going to school to become a photography teacher.
My favorite high school memory would have to be last year’s prom so far.
I would like to give a special shout out to Mr. Lundy and Mr. Rabenold. Both of you have helped me follow my dreams. Without the both of you, I would not have the confidence to have been doing everything I have been these past four years, and I am extremely grateful for the both of you.

This year, the Middle School and High School Student Councils joined forces to organize a district-wide Food Drive that began in November and ran through December 8th, 2023.
Student Council members from both MS & HS student council groups organized all donations and then packed beautifully gift-wrapped boxes with these items to be distributed to families as at the Brandywine Food Pantry for the holiday.
Each box will include the following items: Holiday Napkins, Applesauce, Carrots, Peas, Corn, Sweet Potatoes, Cranberry Sauce, Fruit Juice, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing, Fruit Cocktail, Coffee/Cocoa, and Cookies
Thank you to all families and students who donated items to this initiative. In addition, Thank you to Ms. Schwenk, Ms. Bleiler and all student council members for organizing an amazing way to give back to our community during the season of joy!
