🎃🍂 BHIS/BHMS Pumpkin Decorating Contest! 🍂🎃
Our cafeteria is bursting with creativity and SCHOOL SPIRIT! 💙❤️🩶 This year’s pumpkin decorating contest theme was all about showing off our school pride, and our amazing 4th–8th grade students did not disappoint! From creative designs to spirited displays, our students put so much hard work, time, and imagination into bringing their pumpkins to life. We are so proud of their efforts! 👏🎃
A HUGE thank-you to Savidge Farms for generously donating the pumpkins and helping make this fun activity possible! 🍁 We appreciate your support of our students and school community!

🏛️ Welcome to the City-State of Ur! 🏛️
Mrs. LeVan’s sixth-grade students traveled back in time to ancient Mesopotamia! Using digital tools and their creativity, students designed and built their own versions of the ancient Sumerian city-state of Ur. They explored what made Ur a successful civilization by incorporating important features such as ziggurats, homes, farms, city walls, and the Euphrates River. Through this hands-on digital project, students brought history to life while developing their technology skills, creativity, and understanding of how early civilizations grew and thrived.

It has come to our attention that there is a company, All-American Publishing/T-shirt company, calling local businesses in the Brandywine Heights community to sell advertising under the false pretense that this is on behalf of the Brandywine Heights Athletic Department, specifically our Assistant to the Athletic Director, Mitch Coll.
Several local businesses let us know that a woman (Christina/Christa) from this company is calling from a 208 area code to ask them for a donation between $295-$600 to have their business logo printed on t-shirts to distribute to our students.
Please note that this company is NOT working with the Brandywine Heights community. This is NOT a fundraiser that the District approved, nor was the school even contacted about partnering with this company.
If you are ever contacted by someone soliciting money to benefit the District, please do not hesitate to reach out to Andrea Hartline, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent/Communications Coordinator, at andhar@bhasd.org or 610-682-5100 x1101.
The District has been in contact with the Pennsylvania State Police regarding this matter and were instructed to have businesses that HAVE FALLEN VICTIM AND HAVE DONATED MONEY to this advertising scam call the non-emergency line at 610-378-4011.

Seventh graders in Mr. Mark's STEM class programed drones and played games with the drones as game pieces.

Our schools will be closed Monday, October 12, in observance of Columbus Day and for a Teacher In-Service Day.

Mrs. Levengood and her 7th and 8th Grade Future Problem Solving (FPS) team recently welcomed a special guest speaker, Mrs. Smith, co-owner of Rockland Roots. Mrs. Smith visited to share her extensive expertise on native plants, providing valuable real-world context and insights that directly support our team's research on invasive species for our upcoming competition.
In return for her time and guidance, Mrs. Levengood’s 4th-8th Graders created educational posters highlighting Goldenrod—a key native plant in Pennsylvania. These student-designed posters will be on display at Rockland Roots during their Goldenrod Festival this weekend.
We are deeply grateful to Mrs. Smith and Rockland Roots for partnering with our students and empowering them to make a positive impact both in the classroom and in our local community!
