The School District will be operating under a two hour delay. Road conditions, particularly in the higher elevations, are snow covered and slippery from the snow from last night. A delay will allow for roads to be treated and a safer travel in daylight.

🐟 Big news from the tank! Our trout have officially entered the alevin stage! 🎉 Right now, they’re still hanging out with their yolk sacs, which provide all the nutrients they need to grow. They’re not swimming just yet, but they’re busy developing into strong, healthy fry. For now, we’re keeping the water clean, oxygenated, and disturbance-free to give them the best start. Stay tuned as they take their next steps (or rather, swims)! 💦 #TroutInTheMaking #AlevinStage #LifeCycleInAction

📞🍔 Life skills in action! Our Life Skills students have been practicing making phone calls, and today they put their skills to the test—ordering takeout from Jak’s! 🎉 Each student called the restaurant, placed their own order, and even handled payment and pickup. A hands-on lesson that ended with a delicious reward! 👏 #LifeSkillsInAction #BHASD #LearningBeyondTheClassroom

🏀 Teacher Appreciation Night 🏀 Last week, the boys' basketball team took a moment to honor the amazing educators who’ve made a lasting impact on their lives. The players presented their travel jersey to a teacher who inspired, guided, or supported them on and off the court. Here's some of what they had to say: ✨ D'Andre Thomas → Mrs. Konyak: "She's always there for me—really kind, understanding, and positive." ✨ Eagan Coffin → Mrs. Ohl: "Mrs. Ohl pushed me to always be curious and learn a little more every single day." ✨ Jaxton Henry → Mr. Stephens: "He's really nice and always made me laugh. He brightened my day when I walked into his class." ✨ Tommy Clark → Mr. Sheeler: "In addition to being my favorite teacher, Mr. Sheeler was also my golf coach. I appreciate his dedication to helping me improve on the golf course and in the classroom." ✨ Bergen Smeltz → Mrs. Bleiler: "She takes care of every student like they're her own children and puts unconditional effort into making each class fun and intriguing." ✨ Scotty Ray → Mr. Tannous: "Mr. Tannous is a great teacher that also loves to talk hoops. He's always helping me be a better player and student." To all our incredible teachers—you’re not just educators, you’re life-changers. Thank you for the lasting impact you leave on every student who walks through your doors. 💙❤️ #BHASD #TeacherAppreciation #GoBullets

Let's help our local community by participating in the first ever IS/MS Souper Bowl! With two weeks before the big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, we are asking students to bring in canned good to donate to Helping Harvest. When you bring your donations to school, place your cans on either the Chiefs side of the field or the Eagles side of the field. ...whichever team you think will win the Super Bowl. On February 7th, we will see which side has more donations and find out if our predictions are correct on Sunday, February 9th. Thank you so much for supporting our local community through this fun initiative.

🎣 Trout in the Classroom Update! 🐟 Exciting news—some of the trout have started to hatch! At this stage, they’re known as sac fry or alevin. If you look closely, you’ll notice their yolk sacs still attached—these will provide all the nourishment they need as they grow over the next few weeks. 🌱 While it’s amazing to watch this process unfold, not all survive—just as it happens in nature. The beaker shows the ones that didn’t make it, reminding us of the delicate balance in their journey. Stay tuned for more updates as these little trout continue to grow! 🐟💧 #TroutInTheClassroom #LearningInAction #BHASD

🐟 Exciting news from Brandywine Heights Area School District! Last week, students in Mrs. Levengood’s, Mr. Donato’s, and Ms. Sheeler’s classes welcomed their new aquatic classmates—baby trout! As part of the Pennsylvania Trout in the Classroom program, our students will raise these trout from eggs to fingerlings, learning about coldwater conservation and aquatic ecosystems along the way. Later this year, we’ll release our trout into the stream by the Intermediate School/Middle School, giving them a new home and contributing to local conservation efforts. Follow along for updates on our fin-tastic journey! 🐠📚
