We are excited to reach out to you regarding Pre-K Counts enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year at the Brandywine Heights Area School District.
As we prepare for 2026-2027, we are excited to share that Brandywine Heights in partnership with the Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) will continue to operate two (2) Pre-K Counts classrooms that will educate 32 students this coming year.
Pre-K Counts is a program that is operated through a competitive grant process through the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts provides quality pre-kindergarten programs to eligible 3 and 4-year-olds in Pennsylvania and gives children a chance to learn, become excited about school and be kindergarten ready!
Pre-K Counts is designed for children who are between age 3 and until the entry age for kindergarten; and are at risk of school failure and living in families earning up to 300 percent of the federal income poverty level (such as a family of four earning $99,000) who may also be English language learners or have special needs.
By enrolling your eligible child in quality pre-kindergarten, your child has a better chance of being ready for kindergarten and grade school. This strong early start in pre-kindergarten means they have a better chance of doing well in school, going on to college or career training, and getting a good job. All of this can start by enrolling your child in a Pre-K Counts classroom!
Should you be interested in this program, please complete and submit a Pre-K Counts application to the school district. Please return completed applications with copies of all required documents by email to registration@bhasd.org. Additional information, regarding Pre-K Counts and required documentation can be found HERE.
To assist families, we will be making eligibility and enrollment decisions over the coming month and families will be notified in the week of April 20th regarding their enrollment status.
Should you have any questions regarding our grant application or wish to discuss any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Dr. Kelly or Mr. Farina.
Sincerely, Sincerely,
Dr. Stephanie Kelly Mr. Robert C. Farina
