
Mrs. Lewis's 2nd Grader's proudly showcased their Wax Museum project today! Students chose a famous person they wanted to learn about & when you step on the button in front of them they would recite facts about that person. All the students did a great job staying in character!










Virtual Academy students visited the Lehigh Valley Zoo and learned about the African Penguins' habitat and diet of sardines, anchovies, herring, mackerel, squid, and crustaceans.


Congratulations to Mia Vaccaro (Winner) & Kara Miller (Honorable Mention) on their success with entering the UGI Energy Safe poster contest. Mia and Kara were recognized by UGI and Mr. Riggins today during lunch. Great job on your poster submissions!





Yesterday was Hatch Day for our 4th graders! Students took such great care of their embryos for the last 21 days & enjoyed meeting their newborn chicks yesterday. Thank you to Mrs. Merrick & the 4-H Club & Penn State Extension for making this such a wonderful learning experience.





Our High School faculty wrote personalized letters to students as a little Winter pick-me-up. Teachers were asked to choose students who they feel have had a significant impact on them, inspire them to come to work, and be the best they can be for students.











BHASD will be hosting a Sports Wellness Information night for athletes, families, and community members on April 26th, 2023. Please consider attending to learn more about sports wellness and nutrition from the St. Luke's Sports Medicine Team.


Our Intro to Business students hosted a Food Truck Festival at the HS today. Students developed business plans, designed menus, created websites & social media posts, and “sold” their products. Everyone did an excellent job!







Egg Tower Challenge - Virtual Academy students Sam, Jase, and Henry compete to build the tallest egg tower. The winning tower was built with 7 eggs. Way to go!

The Kutztown Rotary Student of the Month for March is Caleb Moyer. Caleb takes health science courses through the Virtual Academy. Caleb has plans to study nursing and become a flight nurse. Congratulations Caleb!


March 1st, 2023 is Spread the Word Day! To celebrate, our Unified Ambassadors, Jenna and Rebecca, invited BHHS students to sign a banner pledging their promise to promote inclusivity. Class of 2020 Graduate, Rachel Smith, came to speak to Ms. Bleiler's class about her book of poetry. She answered questions from the class about her writing process and the publishing process. The book is dedicated to Ms. Bleiler and Mrs. Paxson, two of our BHHS English teachers!





This morning BHASD received a donation of 40 pallets or 30,000 bags of Lysol wipes from the Frontline Impact Project! These Lysol wipes will be invaluable to our students and staff as we continually work to ensure a healthy school environment. Having an extra layer of support to clean and disinfect classrooms is a huge advantage to keeping our schools clean and students in school learning!





Henry (K) is exercising spatial and visual problem-solving skills by arranging physical tangram pieces to match on-screen puzzles. Great job Henry!
